Assume we want to simulate the global conformation transformation of myosin protein molecules with N particles. Time integration in Langevin Dynamics form usually has very small time step size, since large time step size will cause divergence. However, typical biological phenomena take milliseconds, seconds, or longer which is very difficult to reach when we use small time step size. Performing time integration with a semi-implicit form of overdamped Langevin Dynamics equation can help us to obtain a much larger time step size, e.g. 400 times larger. This progress can help us to simulate biologically relevant events in the time scale of miliseconds. In 2014, the author presented algorithms for enclosing all the eigenvalues and basis of invariant subspaces of a matrix A. As byproducts of these algorithms, we can obtain interval matrices containing small matrices whose spectrums are included in that of A. In this talk, we interpret the interval matrices containing the basis and small matrices as a result of verified block diagonalization (VBD), and establish a new framework for enclosing matrix functions using the VBD. The first algorithm uses the VBD based on a numerical spectral decomposition, and involves only cubic complexity under an assumption. The second algorithm adopts the VBD based on a numerical Jordan decomposition, and is applicable even for defective matrices.
